Don't give up
"Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them
that they should always pray and not give up."
Have you ever felt like God doesn't hear your prayers? I have. Everybody feels this way at one time or another. Jesus knew his disciples would feel that way too and so he told them a parable, or story, to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
It's easy to feel like giving up isn't it? Especially when you've been praying about something and you haven't seen the answer yet. It can feel discouraging. One thing we know for sure, God hears and cares.
Our challenge is to refuse to quit. We don't quit and we press on, knowing that God is with us. We pray. Jesus' friend Paul wrote, "we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue" (Romans 5:4 MSG). We are not promised a life free from struggles. We all wish that were the case, but it's not. But God works all things for good and even our struggles he can turn into passionate patience and strong virtue. So we pray, not giving up, because we know that in whatever hard circumstance you are in, He still loves you and will work all things for good.
This takes faith, but faith is simply trusting in His faithfulness. One thing we know for sure, He is faithful.
You are loved.
